Clik here to view. The wondrous team of stunt-livered heroes and visionaries at Drink Up London are deservedly back in the spotlight this week, as London Beer Week returns March 13th-19th.
As ever, their vision is a perfect balance between education, innovation and more than a hint of boozy fun, and the improved London Beer Weeks delivers in all manner of lovely ways across the city.
Be you a craft ale aficionado or a novice London Beer Week has events, collaborations, tours and pop-ups to engage and entertain. Walking tours sound amazing, as do rickshaw beer tours for those more inclined to save their energy to devote to their palate.
New this year, and central to the week is The Beer Edit, an immersive village in Bethnal Green’s Oval Space from the 16th to the 18th with a focus on the UK’s incredible craft brewers, street food, music and next level fun times. Beers are at bargain prices with an incredible curated choice, and the unbridled joy of a perfectly matched Boilermaker (or hauf and hauf if you’re Scottish) is a winner any day of the week.
Dare we think that all of that, and an amazing Pabst Blue Ribbon Keg Party, Spirit of Prague Beerhall aren’t enough, the stars have aligned to ensure that St. Patrick’s Day falls during London Beer Week. If there’s a better way to celebrate Sainthood, snakes, and the perpetual blurry wonder of the Irish diaspora than with Guinness exclusives, matched food and music then I’ve yet to find it.
As ever Drink Up London manage to engage everyone from beer novice to hardened beer geek in refreshing (sorry) and exciting ways, and show that creativity, camaraderie and proper fun can be at the heart of any event if done with passion and pride. We’ll happily raise a cold one to that.
