Love it or hate it, organising New Year’s Eve can be stressful, but it doesn’t mean that you have to stand in the freezing cold to watch the fireworks, or be crammed in the tube with strangers as the clock strikes midnight.
This year, gather your nearest and dearest and welcome 2015 in style with StyleNest’s pick of the best.
This New Year’s Eve, London’s most glamorous pleasure-seekers are invited to shake out their tassels, unfurl their feathers and elude the beady eye of the law at the most lavish Prohibition Party yet. Obscured from the prying eyes of patrol officers, this evening of illicit drinking and good times will be held in a magnificent art deco ballroom in the West End. In an age of loosening morals, soaring stocks and bootleg barons, opulence and exuberance is the order of the day at Prohibition Party. Guests will be transported back to the giddy magic of the glistening Jazz Age, a time when footloose flappers danced the Charleston, card sharp cads tried their luck at the roulette table, and everyone quaffed on the free-flowing bootlegged booze. The Dark Circus New Year’s Eve Party will take place at the Grand Hall, St Pancras. Wave goodbye to 2014 as well as all that is ordinary, pack up a disgracefully dazzling outfit and immerse yourself in a party that embraces the weird and wonderful world of the circus. Combining Bourne & Hollingsworth’s atmospheric production, delicious cocktails and innovative theming with the striking theatrical performances from the notorious Torture Garden, Dark Circus Party transports guests into a carnival of curiosities – a dark, dreamy and ever so slightly depraved world of illusion and unbridled visual delight. The Blitz Party New Year’s Eve celebration party will be held at Great Suffolk Street Warehouse. With early bird tickets costing £40, party lovers are rewarded with night long war time themed entertainment. So pin up your victory curls, polish your medals, wave your Union Jack with pride and make your way to the air raid shelter where good spirited shenanigans will welcome in the New Year. La Dolce Vita has arrived, in the shape of Spiaggia, a brand new Italian restaurant and bar in Fulham Broadway, and they will be throwing a new years’ bash like no other! Step into this stylish space and be instantly transported to the Italian Riviera courtesy of a sunny Mediterranean palette of warm yellows and cool aquas, punctuated with tongue-in-cheek flourishes like sunloungers and vintage arcade games. Retro-cool neon signs invite you to ‘Dive in’ and ‘Relax’ (in Italian, of course), and downstairs in the chilled out basement bar – or ‘lower deck’ – you can do just that, with daybeds to lounge on while you sip deliciously decadent beach-themed cocktails. Price: £30 per person includes a welcome glass of prosecco, assorted bruschette, aubergine parmesan bites, smoked chicken croquettes, fresh fried calamari, chargrilled Napoli sausages, chargrilled prawn skewers, and a selection of desserts. Live DJ plays until 3am. For a very glamorous and luxurious evening, The Palm Court will be hosting a 1920’s themed evening complete with a four-course dinner, marching band, live music and dancing for £750 per person/£300 per child. Alternatively, the black tie Gala Dinner, priced at £1,200 per person, will take place in The Ritz Restaurant with a six course dinner with Perrier-Jouet Belle Epoque Champagne, as well as a fireworks display. This New Year’s Eve, Madison boasts a slice of Manhattan-style glamour with its new look restaurant, bar and rooftop terrace. Celebrate the start of 2015 with Midnight Madness at Madison; a night of burlesque, outrageous acts and DJ Superstars, not to mention a string quartet. Doors open at 7pm for a prosecco reception and the party will continue until 2am. Midnight Madness tickets are priced at £100 and VIP lounger area packages are also available. For a trip back in time, rather than forward this New Year, head to Mr Fogg’s for a truly traditional Victorian themed soiree. With the walls, doors ceilings and floors decked with bells, holly and enough of Phileas’ very own antique trinkets and paraphernalia to take you “Around The World in 80 Days”, there is nowhere else in London that can make you feel as though you are in 80 places at once! Guests with a bar ticket to Mr Fogg’s will be able to enjoy an infinite selection of drinks from a complimentary Belvedere Vodka and Moët & Chandon cocktail menu, as well as selected House spirits and mixers. Those with table tickets will also enjoy a deliciously delightful, four-course taster menu from Mr Fogg’s kitchen. If that’s not enough to entice, they can also expect complimentary bottles of Belvedere Vodka and Moët & Chandon on arrival (to share between two). With a live performance from a surprise band, and Mr Fogg’s own personal DJ playing a selection of gramophone classics throughout the eve, guests will be sure to have a joyous journey through time. PRICE: £80 bar ticket (booked in November) £100 thereafter, £180 table ticket Following an extensive refurbishment The George Public House has re-opened its doors in time for Christmas and New Year festivities. On New Year’s Eve the menu, priced at £65 per person offers Champagne and canapés on arrival, as well as fois gras and chicken liver parfait, Angus beef wellington, pear and apple tatin. For a New Year to remember dine in The Northall and watch the London fireworks from the perfect vantage point from the banks of the River Thames. Continue the celebrations with Brunch on New Year’s Day accompanied by a live jazz band. Enjoy New Year’s Eve whilst experiencing breath-taking views of Hyde Park. On New Year’s Eve, Min Jiang will offer a lavish five course Chinese banquet including its legendary wood-fired Bejing duck, priced at £160 per person. Following dinner, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the fireworks spectacle along the river Thames. Mango Tree, award-winning Thai restaurant in Belgravia, has created bespoke celebratory menus for the festive season. To bring in 2015, book their New Year’s Eve packages complete with a three-course dinner, Champagne cocktail and music from DJ Vek. Kick off 2015 in style with a five-course dinner at Balthazar. From crab and scallop ravioli and caramelised chicory & thyme tart for starters, to roasted tranche of turbot and Tournedos Rossini for mains, there’s something for everyone. See in the New Year in style at City Social with spectacular views across the city and a Michelin starred dinner. Executive chef Paul Walsh and his team have created two bespoke menus for diners to choose from; an early doors four-course dinner, at £125 per head, or an extravagant six-course menu, at £295 per head. Alternatively guests can reserve a booth in the City Social bar, or just walk in, to enjoy creative cocktails and view London from a height as it lights up at midnight. Welcome in the New Year at Camino King’s Cross and enjoy a magical evening of live music from award-winning Latin and soul singer Heidi Vogel. After-party at the bar with DJs playing the best tunes until late, all free of charge. Available too is a bespoke Cava and tapas dinner, priced at £35 per person including cured mountain ham from Aragon; grain-fed Ibérico black pig ham; salt cod and Idiazábal cheese fritters with a chilli jelly; a warm salad of shaved Brussel sprouts, golden raisins and Ibérico ham and to finish traditional churros served with a dense hot chocolate. For parties of 8 or more people booking early, you can order a whole roasted suckling pig feast. ¡Feliz Año Nuevo!Prohibition Party
