Beamish
Found near Durham, Beamish is billed as The Living Museum of The North. Explore life throughout the 1820s, 1900s and 1940s, learning new skills and taking part in family festivities. Amassing acres of land, Beamish comprises a town, railway station, farm, hall and villages; all true to how they would have been in years gone by. The Jubilee Confectionery is not to be missed, a tempting shop selling traditional sweets.
Tickets start at £10 for children aged 5-16 and £18 for an adult.


The Vyne, Hampshire
A National Trust property, The Vyne is home to The Hidden Realm; a reclaimed garden area redesigned by the Green Play Project and transformed into fantasy land for kids. Inspired by an ancient ring linked to JRR Tolkien’s The Hobbit, The Hidden Realm is a naturalistic environment created with recycled materials and of course, the promise of adventure.
Entrance to the whole property is £6 for a child and £12 for an adult.


ArcelorMittal Orbit London
ArcelorMittal Orbit is London’s newest family friendly attraction, residing in the recently transformed Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Boasting the UK’s tallest sculpture, family arts and crafts will take place across the summer, hosted by visual artist and art educator Natalie Ryde. Be entranced by the interactive digital technology and reversible mirrors, taking in a completely different view of the city.
A family ticket costs £40.


Alnwick Castle
An ancestral home that remains a stunning family residence, Alnwick Castle is the backdrop for many famous scenes from the Harry Potter films. Take some Broomstick Training or brave the Knight’s Quest, dressing up in medieval costumes and making crafts along the way. Indulge in some history via a visit to the elegant State Rooms, before stopping off at the adjacent Alnwick Garden on your way home.
Prices start at £7.50 for a child and £14.50 for an adult, although you can currently buy them at a reduced price online. Tickets can be validated to last for 12 months.


Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh
See the world from a different perspective by visiting Edinburgh’s spectacular Dynamic Earth. Watch 360 degree films in the Show Dome or embark upon a scientific journey following the recent opening of Scotland’s Time Lords. Take a trip in a Deep Time Machine and enjoy interactive exhibits, whilst learning about space frontiers, glaciers and the tropical rainforest. An almighty day out for the entire family.

The Forbidden Corner at Leyburn
An enchanting world of weirdness, The Forbidden Corner at Leyburn is nestled away in the Yorkshire Dales. Prepare to let your imagination run away with you.

Go Ape Tree Top Junior Adventure
Unleash their inner Tarzan on a tree top adventure. Based in several Go Ape locations across the country from Bournemouth to Chester, young explorers can clamber over obstacles before finishing with a trip across the zip wire. An adrenalin packed adventure which is perfect for your little monkeys.
